Walden Rolls Out Mobile Learning Platform for Adult Students

07/08/09 — by David Nagel

I’m of course glad to be hearing and reading this, since this is my own place of learning…

Walden University has begun deploying a new course content delivery system for its students. Dubbed MobileLearn, the system is designed to allow mobile students to tailor the way they receive course materials.

According to Walden, MobileLearn is designed to make learning as flexible as possible and to make distance learning as accessible as possible for the university’s adult student population. It includes support for watching recorded lectures, accessing assigned texts, watching course videos and simulations, and downloading and watching content on various mobile devices. It was introduced in a recent pilot program and is now available for several of Walden’s programs, according to information released by the university. A full rollout for all programs is expected to be completed in 2010.
